Upcoming Technical Photoshop Course
Note – This was an email sent to our subscribers (buyers of our online courses) on Sunday, 4th August 2024.
Hi,
How are you doing this Sunday evening?
Today I wanted to update you about what I am planning on for my next course, after having a successful launch of my Audio Editing course last week.
The topic of my next course actually comes from quite an embarrassing memory of an incident that humbled me. I was doing a shoot for one of my clients and I was showing her the following photo on my computer:
She really liked this photo but asked me if I could change the color of the dress to something like yellow or orange.
I said – Yes, that’s super easy.
I opened the Hue/Saturation function in Photoshop and in less than 5 seconds, was able to get this result:
She seemed happy……until…….she zoomed in.
This is what she saw:
A photographers worst nightmare in Photoshop – ARTIFACTS!
I had no idea what had happened. I shamelessly lied to her by saying that Photoshop is currently experiencing some issues so it won’t be a problem later on (LOL).
Later that night I dug deep into the problem and found out the issue was related to the bit-depth of the image. And that helped me to easily solve the issue.
This memory is what has given me an idea for my next course – A Techincal Photoshop Course, that covers issues that most people hide from in Photoshop, simply because they can be slightly boring to learn. But I know from personal experience, that knowing these things can make a lot of difference to the final output you get.
I plan to cover the following technical topics in this course:
- Understanding Bit-Depth
- Understanding Color Theory
- Understanding Color Profiles
- Hue, Saturation, and Lightness (HSL)
- Adjustment Layers
- Blending Modes
- Working with Color Channels
- Gradient Maps and Color Lookup Tables (LUTs)
- Managing and Fixing Artifacts
- Advanced Selections and Layer Masking
As always, each concept will be taught with practice edit images.
Right now I haven’t really made any content for this. It’s still an idea.
You can let me know if this is something that you’d be interested in. If I get favorable responses, then I’ll start working on it.
P.S – The offer on our Bundled Course Packages in back for a limited time where you can get multiple courses for the price of one. Don’t miss out!

Kush Sharma
