Why We Use YouTube for Our Course Videos
Today I want to clarify one issue which I get asked a lot from my Photography students.
“Kush, I paid for your course but the videos are on YouTube. What is happening?”
So today I would like to clarify this issue since I want you to learn from our videos with full peace of mind.
I only use YouTube for hosting the videos. These videos are uploaded using the “Unlisted” setting offered by YouTube.
An Unlisted video is not available to the general public via the YouTube search. It doesn’t show on YouTube.
It is only accessible to the person who has the link to the video (the links given in the PDF that you get after you buy the course).
Look at the screenshot below:
Under the title of the video, you see the word “Unlisted”.
This means this video is an Unlisted video.
In the first few videos of some of my courses, you may NOT see the Unlisted word written because for certain courses, I offer the first few videos as public videos just for preview purpose. But all the videos after those preview videos are Unlisted videos.
So coming back to the question – Why do I use YouTube to host these videos?
There are three reasons for this:
To save on costs and therefore offer my courses at a cheap price
YouTube hosting is free. If I were to use a paid hosting teaching platform like Teachable/Thinkific/Classplus, it will cost me around Rs.10,000/month. I will then have to transfer this cost to the price of the course which my students pay for. This will unnecessarily raise the prices of my course. Hosting on YouTube allows me to offer you cheaper priced courses while still retaining quality. I can proudly say that there is not even a single competitor to Creative Pad Media who offers similar quality to us at the price we sell our courses at.
YouTube hosting is reliable
YouTube is owned by Google and is the one of the largest social media platforms. This makes things like server issues impossible. Even if there are issues, their teams solve them in a matter of minutes. Whereas If I were to use other third party companies for hosting, there would always be server related issues which would mean your learning experience would be disturbed.
Can be watched on any device
Since YouTube is big business, they are always updating the look and responsiveness of the videos to make them watchable easily and with convenience on any device. This allows you to watch our course videos on any device without any issues.
So there you have it.
That’s why I use YouTube.
I hope I was able to clear away your doubts and more importantly I hope you will learn from me with peace of mind and happiness.
